The Pottery

The pottery is a large communal workspace with a wide range of clay equipment. It is equipped with benches, potters wheels, and a full range of clay tools and equipment, along with clay, glazes and a variety of kilns.

For beginners and intermediate learners we currently run a variety of classes listed below. For anyone with sufficient experience to work self-directed we have Dropin sessions.

For makers who would like more time in the studio we offer two levels of membership, associate and full membership. Details of which are below.

Hand building with an introduction to Wheel throwing  with Natalie Case

Learn the principle techniques in hand building, exploring the possibilities with pinch, coil and slab making with an introduction to wheel throwing.  Perfect for beginners or to refresh your skill set, all classes are held in our fully equipped spacious studios and lead by an experienced teacher.

Drop in Sessions

Self directed studio access for experienced practitioners only:

£10 per session or if bought in a block of 6 a reduced price of £55

We have introduced a new stamp card system for you and us to keep track on how many sessions you have left from your block of 6 drop ins.  Your stamp card  will get signed  by the person running the drop in and will kept by you, we shall keep a duplicate for our records.

2½ hours of wheel throwing pottery fun!

last Friday of each month

Alternatively, organise your own group of friends, family or work colleagues for a bespoke pottery experience

 Under the guidance of our craft potters you will learn various techniques to throw a pot, from preparing the clay to using the wheel and finally creating your own pot, bowl or cup.

Group sizes are limited to 6 students which take place in our spacious studios. Your experience will be for 2 ½ hours, starting with an introduction followed by a demonstration and then time for you to unleash your creativity! Refreshments of prosecco, beer, tea, coffee or juice and nibbles are included.

One finished pot per person will be fired once dry and glazed in a choice of white or shino and will be ready to pick up around 4 weeks after your workshop.

Associate Membership

Costs £60 per month and includes:

Access to the studio workspace and facilities for up to 12 hours per week

For members who require more than 12 hours or a personal workspace please contact us to discuss your needs,

*Monthly membership fees are payable monthly in advance by direct debit. Clay and firings are charged for by weight of the fired items. Where members are using their own clay and glazes, firing is charged per kiln firing.
