After the original dates for the SITselect open studios Stroud were postponed due to lockdown we are really pleased to announce these new dates where we can safely open our doors and showcase our work. We have worked incredibly hard to ensure our studios are spacious, clean and with social distancing in place so that we can fully take part in this event.

Spend a day with artist and experienced tutor Emily Joy learning about the wonderful properties of porcelain paperclay whilst making some gorgeous and festive lanterns! Emily will take you through the process step by step, showing you how to how to make introduce texture and make a variety of different designs with ultra-thin and very translucent windows.
Emily will provide all materials and equipment including a variety of leaves, fabrics and stamps to create textures which glow beautifully when lit.
You can expect to make between 2 and 4 lanterns depending on how complicated they are, or make more (smaller) tea-light holders. You can take any remaining paperclay away with you to continue making at home. A perfect pick-me-up at this grey and cold time of year!
No previous experience necessary. All materials and equipment included, plus teas/coffees and firing of your lanterns (lanterns ready to collect after approximately 2 weeks).
